Functional Learning Interactive Project, (FLIP):
Teachers are constantly developing strategies to ensure that their students can learn as effectively as possible during the school day. Based on the characteristics of autism we have an understanding that our students get behaviourally dis-regulated very easily. The inspiration has come from the work by Daniel Siegel who has used a hand model of the brain to describe what happens when a person ‘flips his/her lid’.
The Functional Learning Interactive Project (FLIP) previously known as Functional Social Skills Assessment Tool (FSSAT) kit/ resource hub will provide teachers with a consistent framework to access resources they need to facilitate and scaffold learning.
Many of the ideas in this project have been taken from “let’s Talk Together- Update (Ylana Bloom and Dolly Bhargava 2003)
This tool will be available online, which is simple to use and can be an essential part of classroom management strategies. It is aimed at providing educators core understanding of students communication and social skills and understand their deficit areas, to sustain student learning.

Motivating Operations.
The below articles are from various Behaviour Analysis journals. An understanding of motivational operations within classrooms can help give insight to understanding why certain behaviours are present. These articles may help influence instructional design.
